Stargazer and Hydrangea

Hello friends…

Some people bring home stray animals, I bring home stray clearance plants.  Like this beautiful Stargazer Lily!

Only one flower was opened when I brought it home a few days ago…look at it now!

The flower is lovely and the fragrance is divine.  I slipped off the pollen pads which doesn’t affect the fragrance at all.

I also brought home this beautiful hydrangea plant.  I just transplanted it in the front where it will get lots of shade.  Remember I live in good ole’  (SE) Texas where everything’s big including the heat and humidity index.

I paid only $5.oo each.

I also finally transplanted the miniature rose bushes I bought last year.  I hope they bloom better in the ground.  They didn’t do very well in the pots.

I am blessed because God has favored me with these beautiful flowers to nurture and enjoy.  What unexpected surprises did you bring home this week?

Joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday.  You’re welcome to join the fun.  Thank you for visiting Leisure Lane.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Marianne

Is that the same kind of flower that was in my mother’s day bouquet? I didn’t know you could slip the pollen pads off. I was dismantling my bouquet the other day and that pollen stained my hand big time. I like their fragrance up to a point and then I’ve had enough – a bit sweet as they begin to die off. Some GrEaT pinks! BUT I adore the sketch you did. Precious – love the face and all the intricate doodles that make her perfect . . . is she also inspired from the pear leaf? Wait, I need to go back and look at that post again! 🙂 Hugs, Jenn

Yes, Jenn, the little sketch is also a pear-shaped leaf inspiration. And did I mention that the leaf is from a Live Oak tree? I thought you’d like to know since you’re from Texas. We have so many around here. Do you have them where you live?

The stargazer lily is the same as in your bouquet. Next time just gently grab the pollen pad and slip it off the steam. They slide them off in the floral dept. where I learned to do it. That way the pollen doesn’t get all your home air or messy everywhere, but doesn’t affect the fragrance.

Thank you for your comments…I love hearing from my friends.

Wish I had your green thumb. I love flowers but guess I do not give them enough love and tender care. Yours are very nice.

Marianne, How beautiful, one of my favourites the Stargazer Lily, I do the same, I’ve damaged a few white linen table runners with not removing their pollen pads. Just needed some TLC from someone, and look you’ve got beautiful blooms.HAve a wonderful weekend. Yvette x
