February Spiral Notebook for Dreams, Thoughts, Ideas, and More

February Spiral Notebook from The Knittington Fairies collection.
Also available in note cards, postcards, stickers, and more.

Good day, friends, and welcome to Leisure Lane. I hope you’re all enjoying the beginning of the new year with good health and new dreams (or expansions on some older ones).

A February spiral notebook is available to write down dreams, aspirations, thoughts, gratitude, ideas, and so much more. I began a gratitude journal in 2012 to switch my thoughts from the negative side of the day to the positive. It works wonders and turned into a gratitude/affirmation journal, as I make the scriptures my personal affirmations about how God sees me and who I am in and with Him. After all, Jesus’ whole life was one big affirmation of God’s love for us. That should make us very grateful.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you find something here to inspire your day. Until next time, may happy days abound!

Happy St. Valentine’s Day Inspiration

Hello visitors, and welcome…

St. Valentine’s Day is a day of Love, and I’ve chosen three red objects to symbolize the three parts of our being which crave our love.   If we nurture these separate parts, they will fundamentally work beautifully as a whole, allowing us to love ourselves and others more deeply and healthfully.

☼ Red gogi berries ~ to nourish and restore our bodies

☼  A red candle ~ to restore tranquility to our minds

☼ A red heart ~ to feed our souls

It’s also my birthday on Valentine’s day, and a reminder for new beginnings.  And those new beginnings begin with me.  A new beginning of harmony and balance ~ peace and love.

Love begins in the home ~ not only the geographical home, but the inward one as well.  I’ve chosen to be re-illuminated to these fundamentals of perfect living.

So I wish everyone of you a Happy St. Valentine’s Day full of balance, peace, and love.  A day to remember to love not only those dear to us, but also, and most especially, ourselves.  A day to restore wholeness to our being so that we can love more richly.

Until next time, may happy days abound.

Note ~ the little heart pendant was a Valentine gift, made and given to me by my son when he was in kindergarten 16 years ago.  I wear it every year.

Three Hearts Valentine

IMG_1706

Welcome friends,

St. Valentine’s Day is almost here, and if you’ve read my Valentine posts before, you know that this day is very special to me.  It is a day to rekindle Love in our lives, not only the romantic kind, but real, honest-to-goodness Love with a capital “L”…plus it’s my birthday (but whose bragging?) 🙂

Today I’m sharing a Valentine’s Day card I made for my brother.  There are three siblings, so the three hearts represent us.  Three hearts stand stronger, shine brighter, and sing louder than one, which is an example of the inside message.  The metal hearts were button covers I found at a garage sale.

IMG_1696They are beautiful with the red wearing off to reveal the gold metal underneath – don’t you think.? And the embossed design is just wonderful.

IMG_1699Since this was for a man, I kept it simple.  I used a punch for the corners.IMG_1704But if it were for a woman, some pretty ribbon could be added to the side. And maybe a few little flowers tucked in.

Next I’ll be working on something for my sister and her husband.  I wanted to give them something individually, and since my brother-in-love doesn’t have siblings, I thought something special just for him would be nice.

Thank you for sharing with me today.  I hope your visit to Leisure Lane was a leisurely one, and you saw things here that enriched your soul…because I certainly have – YOU!

Happy Valentine’s Day To All, and Happy Birthday To Me!!

Yes, friends…I’m allowing myself the indulgence of bragging about my birthday.  I think birthdays are GRAND!!  I don’t think about the age as much as the celebration of  birth and Life.  Age is really timeless, but Life is where vitality is found.

I admit that I don’t always live Life to its fullest, but I’m doing the best I can, and anyway,  “to the fullest’ is a relative term.

St. Valentine’s Day is not only for romantic love – it’s just for LOVE!

For me St. Valentine’s Day is the perfect day of year to make a new year’s resolution to Love…to begin the change in one’s Life to replace the small ‘l’ love with the capital ‘L” Love.  The Love that is sincere and genuine, and that comes from the center of the heart.

Most of us awaken every morning, look in the mirror and see the things we don’t like about ourselves.  But February 14th is the perfect day to awaken,  look into the mirror and say “I Love You”.  That could be the beginning of all sorts of wonderful possibilities.  Like a pebble dropped into a pond, the ripples that go out affect the world around us.

The above image is made of numbered pictures.  The following is what they represent:

1.  Hearts are made for Loving not breaking.  To Love fully and freely from the bottom of my heart.
2.  Anything is possible with faith and God.
3.  How far I’ve come.  Leisure Lane is blossoming along with myself.
AND
4.  When I feel like giving up ~ remember to keep my wings spread.  That’s when flight is possible.

I wish all of you a Happy Valentine’s Day.  Treat yourself to something nice.  And until next time, may happy days abound!

Fun Giveaway Links And Valentine Vote

Welcome to Leisure Lane, dear Friends,

I’m very happy you’ve decided to stop by for a visit.  It’s a cloudy day today, but I’m hoping to at least get in some painting.  Perhaps just some dabbling.

Also, I have to decide which St. Valentine’s Day design I’m going to introduce to you.  Perhaps you would like to help…here are two St. Valentine’s Day Knittington Fairy designs.  Leave a comment to vote for the one you would like to see in card form.  This could be fun.  Just write the name of the fairy you’re voting for in your comment…the voting will extend until January 10th.

We’re not quite sure what put our Eloise in such a tiff, but she’s determined not to give her heart away to just anyone.  However our gnome friend mustn’t dismay ~ love is closer than he thinks. (Eloise was made for the 12 month Knittington Fairy calender I hope to someday soon see in production). There’s more to Francesca than her perky ponytail and cute ens amble.  She’s ever quick to reciprocate a kindness, which only adds to her already “hip” demeanor.  Knitting fun scarves and creating unique “you-can’t-find-this-anywhere-else” gifts for her friends is her favorite past time.  She encourages all the Knittington fairies to let their imaginations soar, and create ~ create ~ create!

I’m also working on my next giveaway which should be around Valentine’s Day.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Marianne
