Kare and Mare: In with the New

Kare and Mare 39Ahh…new things can really make a big difference.  Now Mare, her rug, and her new vacuum cleaner are all in good shape.  Which reminds me…I really need to vacuum.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Kare and Mare: Peace Be With You

Kare and Mare 37

“Seek and you shall find…” can have its glitches at times, but consistent persistence is the key.  The trick is to keep ones peace, because frustration can block an otherwise easily obtained answer.  I think Mare will come to her senses, and realize that God’s never withholding anything good from us, He’s just waiting for us to calm down long enough to receive.

May you find peace in your heart today to receive every blessing with your name on it.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Kare and Mare: Innngh!

Kare and Mare36

“Whew!”  I don’t know about you, but this just makes me want to root for Mare…Come on Mare, you can do it!  And so can I, and so can you…so if there’s anything you need encouraging in, I’m rooting for you all the way.

Stay tuned, because tomorrow, I’m introducing another comic panel.  I only have eight, but they’re doozies!  So keep your sense of humor set on “high”.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

A Little Something Extra

IMG_1411

This evening I made a Sweet Potato Casserole recipe from “Just Put the Pan on the Table”, a segment blog from Jenn’s, Peacorn, Popnuts, Soda Gum, and Chewing Water.  It was YummyLicious!!!  And the pecans on top added a wonderful flavor.   As you can see I already had some.   And since I use less sugar (I used brown sugar) I cut it back to 1/4 cup, and it was sweet enough for me.  If you like sweet potatoes you’re going to love this recipe.  So stop by Jenn’s and check it out…

Thanks Jenn!

Kare and Mare: Keep Holding, Keep Breathing

Kare and Mare 35

Hello friends,

Welcome to Leisure Lane.  Goodness, its such lovely weather here today…completely cool and breezy again!  Well, I hope you’re inspired to exercise today…I know I am.

So Mare decided to teach a class at the senior center.  I suppose she thinks it will keep her inspired to continue exercising.  It’s interesting that we usually teach what we need to learn, and teaching helps us to awaken and practice that very knowledge.  Having knowledge is one thing, using it practically and consistently in ones life is another –  I’ve certainly learned that if nothing else.

I have a sequel to this panel that I’ll share with you tomorrow.  Then I’ll be stepping out on a limb to introduce another comic panel I came up with while I was doing the Kare and Mare series.  It’s more spiritually based, and has more to do with making light of my deep passion for being a disciple of Jesus, but facing (and making the efforts to conquer) certain realities….okay, I’m not going to give too much away.  You’re just going to have to stay tuned to find out.  But don’t fret, I’ll still continue posting Kare and Mare.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Kare and Mare: Double Vision

Kare and Mare 33

Mare’s a real pip…but you know, it really does work.  However, I’ve decided to go the faith route, and I’m determined that my eyes will be “renewed like the eagles” because having to double up for clear vision is just to ridiculous.  I’ve also decided that since my body’s a temple it needs to be in tip-top shape.  And besides, wearing glasses gets in the way of putting on makeup.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Kare and Mare: Positively Positive

Kare and Mare 32

Hello friends,

I always like it when Kare or Mare show me the perks of positive thinking.  I suppose if I look hard enough I can see something positive in most anything.  I’m practicing that.

I’ll see you Monday for more Kare and Mare.  In the meantime, have a positively wonderful weekend.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Kare and Mare: Surrendering

Kare and Mare 31

Good day, everyone,

Well it seems that Kare surrendered to the calling, so to speak.  I think most of us have done it at times.  But I also think the best thing is to just enjoy it when you do, and learn to pick your battles, even with food.  Because if you’re eating something indulging with the stress of guilt attached, then the stress is going to be more unhealthy than what you’re eating.

So if you’ve been good about eating healthier than be encouraged to continue 🙂  And if you treat yourself, make sure you really enjoy it and it’s good quality…then the indulgence will satisfy you more.  Hmm, I think I hear my name; I’m hoping it’s those yummy organic strawberries.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Kare and Mare: Hee Hee

Kare and Mare 26

Hello friends,

Talking on the phone isn’t Kare and Mare’s only pastime…they like to keep busy creating, too.  And Mare’s about to try her hand with a new medium, so stay tuned.

I know, I know, Mare’s beauty mark is on the wrong side in this one…I don’t know what I was thinking!  Or maybe she got up on the other side of the bed today…hee, hee..

Thank you for visiting Leisure Lane today.  I hope you find the time to create today…gardening, card making, sewing, knitting, crocheting, singing…whatever suits your fancy, I’d love to hear about it.

Kare and Mare: Good Perspective

Kare and Mare 25

Mare’s easing her way back into exercise, and she’s figured out how to feel like she’s really progressing.  That’s the key to staying with it, don’t you think?

May you, too, find a way to get in your exercise…staying healthy, happy, and young!

Thank you for visiting, friends.  It’s such a pleasure to be sharing these with you.  It keeps my creative juices flowing for the moment, and I love knowing you’re having a good time with them.

Kare and Mare: Forever Young

Kare and Mare 24

I think when we begin giving our teenagers rules to live by, the first one should be “No Hitting Below the Belt”, and then play dumb, like we don’t know what the heck they’re talking about…old?  Who’s old?  Where’s the old person, I don’t see any old people.

May blessings surround you for a lovely day full of happy thoughts, lovely things, and the fragrance of flowers at some point in the day.
