Christmas Wreath Card

Welcome to Leisure Lane today. I hope you’re all enjoying the day. It’s full of promise – I promise!

Today, I’d like to share another Christmas card. I painted the wreath and decorated it with some craft stick-on “pearls” and some cute gold flecks. The flecks were from a package I bought at the dollar store in the cosmetics department. They’re for finger nail decor and the package came with different colors and shapes, like iridescent and silver stars, green circles, etc. So, next time you’re in the cosmetic section, look around – you may be surprised to find things you can use for craft projects.

Finished off the wreath with a raffia red bow and added one of those silver star flecks to its center. I used the corrugated cardboard as is; I think it adds something nice in its raw state.

Thank you for strolling by today. I hope you’re inspired to do something fun to decorate your home or give as a gift.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Florence & Freddie – House of Cards

Love is in the air tag
by Florence Langley

Good day all, and thank you for strolling by Leisure Lane.  I hope you are all well and enjoying the beginning of autumn!

If you’ve been by here before, you may well know that I love to create cards.  I haven’t done one in a while since working on my book, River Runs Deep – but while I’m waiting to announce it’s very soon publication – I’d like to introduce you to a card-maker I’ve been following for quite some time.

Florence Langley from Florence & Freddie Part 2, is a remarkable stamp enthusiast and creator of cards. The above is her latest tag, Love is in the Air – tag 2.  Her use of stamps, colors, and themes keeps me excited about what she’ll come up with next.  Florence makes her home in Spain, and her charming, creative, sweet nature comes through on her blogs.  On occasion, she’ll entertain us with the antics of the chicks she raises.  You can stop by and see more of what Florence is creating and shout out a “hello” from your “neck of the woods” at

Thank you again for visiting, and…

Until next time, nay happy days abound!

A Gift That Won’t Pail in Comparison

Happy day to everyone.  I’m excited to see you today, and to share the pretty pail gift idea I’ve prepared for a friend.  If you remember in my last post, where I shared her decorated birthday tag, I mentioned that she loves butterflies – so, I decided to make that the theme.  When I found this delightful small metal pail at the dollar store, I knew it would make the perfectly fun and creative receptacle for her gift items.  A crinkled yellow bow and dimensional butterfly top it all off.

You can see the handmade tag tucked in.

I wrapped some of the items in decorated napkins.

Give someone a gift today.  It doesn’t matter how little or big it is – a smile, a kind word, a compliment, something you bought with them in mind – it only matters that it comes from your heart.  If you open your heart, God will guide you to a variety of ways you can create a smile.  Sow delightful seeds of joy in someone’s life and you will have a big harvest in yours.

Thank you for strolling by Leisure Lane today.  I hope you enjoyed your visit and it sparked some good ideas for you, too.  May your day be filled with blessings, and…

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Happy Card for a Happy Day

Hello everyone, and thank you for strolling by the Lane today!

I’ve been creative today, so I thought I’d share a quick card I made this afternoon. It’s a horizontal card made on some extra card stock I had.  It was so much fun and quite relaxing to do.  Simple line drawings and colored in with some markers.

I’ve been doing lots of swirls in my gratitude journal and drawing lots of cupcakes lately, and thought I’d incorporate some of that in the card.  I’ve been having goodies on my mind a lot lately…LOL!

I hope you all have a delightful day today!  Until next time, may happy days abound!
