Hope or Faith – revisited for these times

Hello everyone, and welcome to Leisure Lane. Today I am republishing a post from October, 2013. A timeless piece. Stay safe, use wisdom, keep positive, and enjoy.

“You never hope for a thing you already possess…

Hope is a beautiful delusion…
The Senses declare, “It cannot be,” but FAITH shouts above the turmoil, “It is!”
Faith counts the thing done before God has acted.”  E. W. Kenyon

“Whatever you ask (claim, demand) in prayer,
believe you receive (take for your own), and you shall have what you say.”  Jesus of Nazareth
Mark 11:24

Hope is the morning song of a sparrow.
Hope is the glimmer of light that excites the edge of a storm cloud.
Hope is the bend in the road.
Hope is the prayer wafting to heaven.
Faith is the Amen!

This is something really taking root in my soul garden.  I hope 😉 this speaks to someone today, and strengthens your resolve once and for all.  May you be blessed, my dear friends, who are so precious to me, and…

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Leisure Lane: a Thanksgiving Song

Happy Thanksgiving, my friends…

Here on Leisure Lane we are celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow. But truthfully, every day is an opportunity to be thankful for something, and I pray that there is something in your life that you can be thankful for and which can be a seed planted for many more good thankful things to come.

Among many things I am thankful for, one is this blog and the wonderful people who have visited here over its eight-year journey. So, thank you for making Leisure Lane a joy. I hope it has blessed you as much as you have blessed me. And in honor of all of this I would like to share this little song that popped into my head about 10 minutes ago. I hope it makes you smile…enjoy! (If I could sing, I’d make a video and sing it to you – but, yeah…that’s not going to happen 😉  )

L e i s u r e   L a n e

I’m skipping over to Leisure Lane,
Where happy thoughts are never in vain,
And the sun mostly shines without much rain…
I’m going to Leisure Lane.

My friends are coming to join me there,
We’ll breathe the cool, refreshing air,
And stroll the Lane without a care…
I’m going to Leisure Lane.

There are so many things to visit and see,
I wish you all could come with me
To share the sights and stop for tea…
I’m going to Leisure Lane.

I’m skipping over to Leisure Lane,
Where happy thoughts are never in vain,
I love to visit again and again…
I’m going to Leisure Lane….

Altered Card

IMG_1648Hello Leisure Lane visitors,

I’d like to share with you an altered card I’m sending to a friend in San Antonio.  Over a period of months I collected little, fun things to send to her in a gift box.  She was so excited when she received it that she immediately began collecting items to send to me (isn’t that sweet?).  She said that this was fun, and she couldn’t be more correct in her thinking.  She gave me some delightful items, one which was a box of beautiful cards.  So I decided to alter one a bit, and send it as a “thank you”.  It’s not the fanciest thing, but this card was so pretty on its own that simplicity was best.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day, and I’d like to thank you for visiting.  Friends are gifts, don’t you think?

Until next time, may happy days abound.

Tea and Friends

Teapot - good friendsHello friends,

You are invited to join me for a cup of tea while we visit Terri at Artful Affirmations for Teacup Tuesday.  Terri was one of the very first lovely ladies to welcome me in blogland.  Thank you, Terri.  And while you’re there, pop over to say hello to Martha, Terri’s tea-time partner.

I’ve been working on a couple of projects…sketching out the illustrations for the first of the Penelope Pumperschnook story book and paper doll series, and I recently recreated the cover for my second novella, “The Heart of Annie…The Strength of God.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Kare and Mare: Friendly Notice

Kare and Mare 15

One of the best attributes of friends is they notice our hard work in self improvement, and they let us know.  Friends are a blessing, and I’m grateful for mine.

Thank you for visiting me at Leisure Lane.  I’m always glad to see you.

If you’ve missed any “Kare and Mare”, or you’d like to know more about them, you can go to the Kare and Mare page and view them there.

Until next time, may happy days abound!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, dear Friends!

Today I’m relaxing…working on a little project, drinking a delightful cup of  yummy-licious hot chocolate (yes, that absolutely is a mini scoop of  Breyer’s Vanilla ice cream), and enjoying the pleasant cool front blowing in from the north.  It’s dropped the temperature quite a bit, so that now it feels like winter once again (or at least, if my memory serves me, what up north you would call a clear, crisp, cool, breezy mid-autumn ~~ but I’ll take it, nevertheless).

My wish for everyone is a healthy, prosperous, creatively expressive New Year.  I pray all of our dreams come true, and that we are able to create for ourselves more balanced and joy-full lives.  Oh! What a wonderful thought ~ I can see it now!

May blessings, without measure, abound in your life,

Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving.  I hope yours is filled with friends, family, laughter, love, and good food.

I like holiday napkins, they add a bit of fun to any nibbles.
