On Spirit Communing with spirit

Dear friends, the following is an excerpt from prayers and dialogues written from 2004 – 2007, which I call The Gardener of My Soul. I hope this helps you, inspires you, soothes you – whatever you can glean from it to give your mind peace.

February, 2007

I understood today why I am overwhelmed by silence in the yearning for the Lover.  He is there with my spirit.  He is embracing the soul.  Words end. There are no words to express, no sounds to mutter, no utterances from the vocal chords.  My lips open longing to say what I feel, but Spirit is engaged with His beloved and there is no room for my flesh.  That is Spirit communing with spirit.  Silence is the marriage bed, where two become one.  There is only the ecstasy of the soul for her Lover, and the knowledge that only He has the power to come to her through her passionate and silent urging.

Note to the beloved:

It is sometimes very difficult to remain in silence.  Talking to God makes us seem like there is a true communication going on.  And certainly, it is vitally important for us to verbally express our longings, our intentions, and heart-felt feelings to our Eternal Parent.  But sometimes, when the longing becomes so intense, and a sensation washes over us like a soothing balm, words have no place, and quiet is the best antidote.  This is the moment when God can fully embrace you with the Love He so patiently has waited to pour on you.  Embrace it with all of your heart.  Remain silent, and let His Spirit love yours.  It is a communication between them, though you may not fully comprehend with your mind, it will be fully appreciated in the very core of your being.

Matthew Kelly speaks often of entering “the classroom of silence”. It is here that we can “hear” God’s responses to our prayers, His guidance, His love and forgiveness. Too often we focus too much on talking. Stop. Listen.

Thank you for your comment, Jeff. I’m being led to sit quietly again. Back when I originally wrote these experiences down, I had been so beautifully preened by the Father and it became easy to do. Now, with a compassionate Love, He’s dusting me off, kissing and healing the worldly wounds that crushed my soul – being renewed daily. Marianne ♥
