What I’ve Been Up To…

As you know, I haven’t been doing much on the blog anymore.  It’s been in the process of fizzling out, as I suppose I’m not posting things which are of interest.  This little blog took a turn, somewhere along the journey, in quite a different and less satisfying direction than I anticipated.  And before I knew it the incentive and motivation for it all diminished.

Jesus was right in saying one cannot serve two masters.  My job robs all of my energy, and on my days off I find myself trying to recuperate in order to start all over, for little pay, constantly cut hours, and no creative satisfaction.  My talents and ergo me are decaying there.

So until I get back and on course, I’ve decided to let the blog continue to fizzle out.  I’ll start fresh when something really wonderful comes my way.  That’s right…comes my way.  Chasing after things gets one off course, and uses up a lot of energy best spent on other things.  If what I do is really worth while then the right doors will open, and the scale of weighted appreciation will tip in my favor.

That being said, to keep my mind off of desperate thinking (“What am I going to do? What am I going to do?), I’ve been creating with the needle once again.  The photos here represent some of the projects I’ve been working on .

IMG_1875Lovely crocheted doilies for my sister.

IMG_1877 (For Denise 2014)She loves the color purple in all of its shades.

IMG_1886 resizedAnd in all shapes and styles, as in this crocheted bracelet.

IMG_1889 (for Brenda's granddaugters 2014)When I shared a photo of my sister’s bracelet with a friend, she ordered two for her granddaughters.

IMG_1898 (with matching earrings)Then three more orders…one for my co-worker and friend’s, granddaughter;

IMG_1903 (Bracelet for Floral girl)and two for co-workers, in Teal.  I’m only showing one here for space saving, because the other is similar in style, but a few of the beads are different in color.

IMG_1905 (Double stranded knit coasters for Josh)And using the mini potholder knitted pattern I recently posted, I made 6 double-stranded cotton coasters for a male coworker.  He specifically wanted black and white.

All in all these have been quite busy, yet creatively happy days off.  I am looking forward to the day I can accomplish all of my creative ideas every day, in a more balanced and appreciated atmosphere.

Well, I hope you enjoyed these, and they’ve inspired you.  Thank you for stopping by Leisure Lane.

Marianne

Miss you, Marianne. You are too talented to stay down for long. I might have some ideas for you, as well. Perhaps, we can chat some evening after 9 pm PST,

It’s funny Marianne I felt the same about 12 months ago. I think blogging does take us down avenues which take us off our own personal creative route. I hope you find the right path in which you are completely happy with. You are one of the most creative people I have met in blog land and I will miss you. I hope you will keep in touch.
    Take care my lovely friend.

There’s a lot of great stuff out ‘there”, so I thank you for your compliment, Florence. I’ll be posting perhaps on occasion, and when I figure it all out, I’ll try it again. I’ve met some wonderful creative people blogging, and I intend to keep up with them.

Marianne, I know what you mean. I’ve been creative with my events lately and do not find the need to blog as often. I still love blogging but it served a greater purpose when I had a very constricting job with no creativity.
I wish you the best and please stay in touch. You are savvy in the technology field; have you thought of creating an Etsy site? I don’t know anything about it but see beautiful things there and maybe that is the place for you. xo Joanne

oh, you are so sweet, Joanne. I had to chuckle because I’m really not computer savvy. I’ve thought of an Etsy shop years ago, but somehow people have to find you there, too. I may give it another round, though if I have anything to sell. Thank you.

My main thing is that I do like to blog, but the original precept for the blog didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. At least not yet, anyway. I will give it a bit of a rest, only posting on occasion, and rethink it all.
