“One Love” Valentine Tag

IMG_1708Hello dear friends,

I’m so happy I’m able to get these Valentines out early this year.  I decided to do a tag for my sister and her husband.  I thought I would make one for each of them, but after speaking with my sister, and her knowing that I’m a bit pressed for time, she suggested I just do one.  So I took her advice, and created this “One Love” Valentine tag.  It’s my first tag.

Since it was for a man and a woman, I used a combination of materials that would represent both rugged and feminine aspects.  Then the tag hanger is a combination of jute and a soft decorative ribbon.  The painted corrugated cardboard and the heart’s hand painted abstract background give a nice appeal as the focal with the lace accent.

I may do one or two more Valentine’s, then it’s time to think about the next big project I need to wrap up and get out there to all of you.

It’s always a pleasure to visit with you.  Until next time, may happy days abound!

Marianne ♥

What a wonderful idea. Your tag is so beautiful. I think it is even more special because it is for the two of them. Two people as one. You can tell you put a lot of thought and love into this.
    Take care

Thank you, friends. These Valentines are a bit rushed, as I will be back at work before I know it, and I have many other things to do before then…resting is one (so far that hasn’t been accomplished). But I’m glad I’m getting them done, Ahhh, in my imagination I am already working from my sunny home doing the creating of my joy, and my life is balanced 🙂

Marianne, once again you are so creative and this is such a beautiful tag! I might be inspired to make one of my own, with what I have on hand! xo Joanne

This is beautifully done. Always impressed by your hand work … got a good eye for details and selection … and I love the textures. I was thinking about the stamps thing you showed not long ago – the paper/water deal. I simply have to get out of thinking and do that ! and a tag too. 😉

So beautiful and I like the balance you achieved.
I should say Snap as a sample made for Crafty Individuals (to be posted later this month) has a large shabbily painted corrugated cardboard heart.
Your sister and her husband will be touched that you created this Valentine for them.

So beautiful, Marianne. I love the combined rugged and feminine. Are you also writing something personal inside or did you work up a sweet poem? Whatever you did, I’m sure it is very special to that person. I know I loved my card that you sent me. It makes a person feel special that you would go through so much trouble. Well, maybe not trouble on your part. 🙂
    Love you,
    Brenda
