Always…The Heart Leads

Good day friends, and welcome to Leisure Lane…

Always…The Heart Leads is another decorated journal I made, this time for a writer friend.  She has been interested in brightening up her surroundings, so I thought the rose buds were a perfect way to do that.

As you can see, I’ve kept it simple, but Oh so pretty.  It closes with a satin ribbon, which I also used as a ‘marker’ so she can find her place more easily.  Using what I had in stock, a  little lace here, a rose bud there with some pearls, and voila!  I do so need to replenish my supplies…I wanted to do that this week, but other things came up, and that desire will have to wait for the moment.

The journal is gracing my home until which time I can give it to my friend.

Roses In The Rubble

 When lives need to mend
God sends a friend.
A friend we’ve known for years,
Or one new to calm our fears.

When everything seems lost
They help to count the cost.
They never come too late,
To help with life’s harsh fate.

 God shows His love and care
By sending human angels where,
Amidst the toil and trouble
We find roses in the rubble.

Good day, friends…

As always, welcome to Leisure Lane.  Take your shoes off, sip a cup of your favorite beverage, and relax while I show you my latest creation.  I enjoyed decorating the Love and Blessing journal so much that I decided to make another.

I’ve used many lovely items; some new, some used and weathered to give it a wonderful shabby chic look.  And I love the colors and pattern which give it a nice vintage look, too.

All the fairies in Knittington take pleasure in dressing for special occasions, and Julia is no exception.  The month of July bursts with the excitement of picnics and fireworks, warm sun and sweet breezes.  Julia inspires all the fairies to patriotism by knitting flags for everyone in her sailor inspired dress.
